About

As a nonfiction writer and audio storyteller, I strive to amplify the voices of those who are often silenced, drive light into what may at first be unseen, and find the emotional truth, the thread that binds us, makes us human.

I have produced stories for Chicago Public Radio’s WBEZ, WGN News Radio 720, Vocalo, and Chirp Radio. I’ve participated in the Transom Story Workshop at Interlochen, Third Coast Audio Festival, and am a member of the Association of Independents in Radio, AIR.

My most recent publications include a short story in Artifex and an essay forthcoming in Under the Gum Tree.

I am especially interested in, but not limited to, stories of: home—the struggle to find it, define it, secure it—class in modern day America, addiction, education, literacy, mental health, underdogs, artists, film, art as therapy, unconventionality, adventure and journey stories, entrepreneurs, small businesses, self-reliance, the adverse effects of too much technology on our social and emotional wellbeing, and the restorative power of nature.

Through my stories, I aim to not only entertain but empower and enlighten, create the potential for healing, and provide opportunities for people to come together peacefully in a new understanding or renewed hope.
